Now that our kids are "back-to-school", the question we all stumble on is "What should we pack for lunch?" Its hard to pack healthy lunches quickly, that are easy and not messy to eat. And for those of you who are like me and have an extremely picky eater, what can you do? After the first week or two packing lunch starts to get boring, monotonous.... how can you pack lunches that keep kids interested and make lunchtime fun? Thursday, August 27, 2009
What in the world should I pack for my child's lunch?
Now that our kids are "back-to-school", the question we all stumble on is "What should we pack for lunch?" Its hard to pack healthy lunches quickly, that are easy and not messy to eat. And for those of you who are like me and have an extremely picky eater, what can you do? After the first week or two packing lunch starts to get boring, monotonous.... how can you pack lunches that keep kids interested and make lunchtime fun? One thing I saw recently was using cookie cutters to create mini sandwiches in different shapes. I thought that was cute... my problem is the filling. My daughter doesn't eat peanut butter or jelly. She loves egg sandwiches but those don't last till noon at school. All moms need all the help and suggestions they can get when it comes to packing lunch.
Post a comment and tell us what you pack to make healthy, mess-free, fun lunches for your kids! Suggestions Please!

Do what my Mom did.....fold the wax paper neatly around the sandwich....put in a piece of cake or a peeled orange....a napkin....put child's name on the sack.....place everything in the sack, fold twice from the top. Oh, be sure your child has 10 cents....5 cents for snacks at 10 AM and 5 cents for the carton of milk at lunch.....He/she can safely walk the 5 blocks to school....:)
ReplyDeleteMy mom always wrote me a note on my paper bag and that just MADE my day EVERY day!! She drew a balloon or hearts or whatever and it was just wonderful!!
